SUBJECT: The River Mole runs through Leatherhead in Surrey and winds its way towards London where it joins the River Thames at East Molesey. Follow the footpath westward from Bridge Street to a point just beyond the Mole Business Park where the path crosses open grassland; imagine a warm summer’s day when horses left to graze have wandered down a gently sloping bank into the shallow waters of the river to refresh themselves. One of a series of watercolour paintings produced from sketches and photographs in the late 1990s
