SUBJECT: Brockham Green is at the heart of Brockham Village, a triangular grass open space surrounded by historic properties, two pubs, a village shop, the community club and a coffee shop. At the southern end of the Green stands the 19^th century Christ Church, built with donations from local benefactors including stone gifted by Sir Benjamin Brodie who owned nearby quarries. Vicarage Cottage is the timber-framed, white-walled property seen to the left of the church. It is a grade II listed building, thought to have been built in the 17^th century with some later additions. Brockham Green is the venue for the annual November 5^th Bonfire celebrations, and other events and activities during the year. In the summer, Sunday afternoon ‘Teas on the Green’ are laid on by local groups with patrons seated out on the church north lawn (English weather permitting).
